WHAT IS PRP THERAPY?
Our skilled practioners, Nurses and Master estheticians are pleased to perform platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy at Avanti Medical Center to help you look and feel rejuvenated. PRP therapy is one of the hottest and most versatile in the industry because of its natural origins and promising results. PRP ( Platelet- Rich Plasma) can be used quite literally from head to toe. This treatment uses a patient’s very own plasma to stimulate the skin, prompting collagen production and decreasing the prevalence of wrinkles, cell regeneration and hair restoration. It can also be performed in conjunction with microneedling or other aesthetic services to help boost your final outcomes. For more information about PRP therapy, call Avanti Medical Center in Lehi, UT to schedule a consultation. are always eager to discuss the benefits of PRP and how it can help to improve your skin.
OUR PLATELET-RICH PLASMA TECHNIQUE
Once you are seated comfortably in one of our private minor procedure areas, a small amount of blood will be drawn from one of your arms and put into a centrifuge machine. After approximately 15 minutes in our specialized PRP centrifuge machine, the components of the blood separate and are then ready for injection. We will place your rich plasma into a syringe and inject it into the predetermined locations. PRP therapy usually only takes around 25 minutes, but that can vary on a patient-to-patient basis.
PRP THERAPY FAQ
How much does PRP therapy cost?
Treatment costs for PRP therapy will be dependent on how many areas are being treated as well as if it is combined with another treatment. Your practitioner will talk about a cost estimate in your consult and discuss any specials we are offering.
How long do results from PRP therapy last?
Visible results from PRP therapy may last for 4 – 8 weeks. The longevity of the results will vary in every person and depend on the area being treated. One of the advantages of this procedure is that it does not require incisions or lengthy downtime, plus it is easier to afford.
What are the risks and complications of PRP therapy?
Possible side effects of PRP therapy when done alone are extremely mild and include prolonged bruising and swelling. When you get PRP therapy with microneedling, potential risks may include mild scarring, delayed healing, and pigmentation changes. There are why it’s important to have cosmetic treatments performed by an experienced practitioner like our team at Avanti Medical Center.
Will PRP help replenish volume?
PRP therapy does not add volume. Although PRP treatments offer stunning results because they rejuvenate the appearance of the complexion and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, they do not increase volume. If you would like to contour certain areas of the face, you may add dermal fillers to your PRP treatment plan.
Is PRP therapy painful?
Getting PRP injections feels similar to a dermal filler or BOTOX® injection but with the extra step of drawing blood to get the plasma. Typically, most patients feel a little pressure or pinch during the injection. If you are nervous about feeling pain, you can request local anesthesia.
